The upcoming 2nd Quarter Thanksgiving of God’s People or Special Pasalamat ng Buong Bayan (SPBB) on July 3-5, God willing, is a quarterly Thanksgiving event of the Members Church of God International.
This is the second time we held our quarterly Thanksgiving online since the onset of the pandemic Covid-19. Despite the predicament we are facing nowadays, we are still thankful to God for a multitude of reasons.
Global Prayer for Humanity
Bro. Eli Soriano, the Overall Servant of MCGI, has called for a global prayer to God and invites all people regardless of religion, ethnicity, or race. Since its commencement on May 25, people from around the world are expressing their support to this global event and continuously joining to call upon the Lord.
The global prayer starts at 9:30 p.m. PHT from Monday through Friday. Even before this, MCGI already has its 24/7 Community Prayer service that started in 2011 and still continues today.
As most of us stay at home during this quarantine period, boredom and anxiety could strike anytime, and an effective way to battle these negative emotions is through studying the words of God.
MCGI launched a Daily Bible Study hosted by Bro. Eli Soriano on April 12 that is aired live through Ang Dating Daan’s social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Since then, many people have been raising their questions of faith to clear their doubts that the Bible never fails to answer. The program’s listeners and supporters are thankful to God for the series of Bible Study and Bible Exposition held during these trying times.
Here are some testimonials from the listeners:
Also, for the very first time, Bro. Eli Soriano has made the Live Mass Indoctrination open to the public through Ang Dating Daan’s social media channels that started on June 1. Usually, guests are invited to Church locale chapters but since there are government mandates about lockdowns, quarantines, and social distancing, the indoctrination sessions can now be streamed even online.
Aside from spiritual needs, Bro. Eli Soriano and Kuya Daniel Razon understand the plight of our fellowmen amid the pandemic, as many people are experiencing hunger more than ever due to very limited resources and unemployment.
With the help of God, thousands of families have already been assisted by MCGI in cooperation with UNTV News and Rescue through relief operations being made across the country.
A Very Special Thanksgiving
As members of the Church, we have so many things to thank for even amid discomfort and sorrow. We may have lost loved ones but our faith remains strong, or even became stronger, as we understand that God is a loving Father who has great plans for His children.
And so, we offer our thanks to God not just for the blessings but most importantly, for the daily deliverance. To God be the glory!
